House Call Pet Sitting

Mandi’s Mutts provides house sitting for dogs, cats, and other pets for check in visits and overnight stays. We always start with a Meet And Greet before booking for all new customers. Meet and greets are a short complimentary 20-minute maximum appointment so that we may meet you, your pets and go over their routine. Because this is a complementary visit, we ask that greets stay to this time frame. If you have anxious dogs that need more time to get to know us, each additional visits will be charged as a check in fee.

If you need to reschedule a meet and greet due to an EMERGENCY, one reschedule is allowed. I ask that you make alerts and events on your phone to respect our time and to remind you that you have this scheduled. Cancellations due to forgetfulness are unacceptable and will result in a required $30 check in fee for booking another meet and greet, or not being taken on as a client. If one of my employees will be working your appointments, they will also be in attendance at the greet.

Overnights

Overnights are for owners that need someone staying in their home while they are gone for an extended amount of time and want their pets to be the most comfortable while they are away. Each overnight stay comes with a mid-day check in visit. If you need additional check in visits during the day, they can be booked for an additional $30.

Guaranteed arrival time is 8pm and departure is 8 am. Check ins are provided mid-day between 11-3. If we are staying at your home for an extended amount of time, you generally get FREE time. We do not believe in price gouging out clients. Example, if we are staying there a week, it is a Saturday and we have no plans, we will probably stay at home with your pets.

Overnights include:

  • Medication administration
  • Feeding
  • Fresh water changes daily
  • Play & cuddles
  • Outside perimeter check
  • Fresh water changes each visit
  • Medication administration
  • Pictures & videos of your pets each day

Check In Visits

Check in visits are for those that do not wish for someone to stay overnight in their home or will be gone for an extended time during the day. Check in visits last up to 45 minutes.

We will walk the areas the pets have access inside the house looking for any possible accidents or mischievous behavior. Please see accidents/anxious behavior below if this will apply to you.

Check In Visits include:

  • Fresh water changes each visit
  • Medication administration
  • Feeding
  • Play & Cuddles
  • Outside perimeter check
  • Package and mail placed inside designated room of house
  • Watering of house plants (please give detailed instructions when possible)
  • Potty time (we go outside with your dogs and actively watch to make sure they are doing their business and to monitor BMs. If you have an anxious dog or one with prone loose stool, please keep a few cans of pumpkin on hand so that we may administer to them)
  • Pictures & videos of your pets each visit

24 Hour Care

Overnight stays do not mean 24-hour care. If you are seeking 24-hour care, it is available for $500 a day. Why $500 dollars? That’s A LOT! Yes, you are correct, it is! In order to provide 24-hour care for your pet, we cannot take any other jobs and we have to make up that lost income. We also wouldn’t be allowed to have any sort of personal life while at your home as we would be hired to stay there 24/7 until your return. Everyone has a price, and this is ours for a 24 hour a day request!

Pet Sitting Policies

Overnights – Please provide the following for overnight stays:

  • A bed with clean sheets
  • Space in the refrigerator and freezer for food for the length of our stay (if you will be gone for any length of time and have leftovers, please throw them out so we may have a place for our groceries.
  • Wifi passwords
  • An outlet with an extension cord in the bedroom we will be staying in (if outlet is blocked by furniture)
  • If we are staying longer than 6 nights, we ask that we have access to a washer and dryer so we can wash and dry a load of clothes.

Keys – If keys are to be used for home access, we will require two. One for the person working your appointments and one in the event of an emergency with the sitter so that another sitter can come in and care for your pet. If there is an emergency, you will be notified as soon as possible with the name and phone number of who will be in your home. Keys should be given at the time of the meet and greet, if they are to be picked up at a later date a pick-up fee of $10 will be applied. Door or garage code can be given the day before the sitting services so we can have them on file.

Keys that are to be kept on file are given back to Mandi for safe keeping after your sitters booking.

Deposit – A nonrefundable deposit of 20% is required upon booking. During peak time and holidays, a 50% nonrefundable deposit is required. Remainder balances are due on the first day of sitting in full.

Tipping – It isn’t required, but most appreciated. When possible, leave a cash tip for your sitter in an envelope on a kitchen counter with their name on it. You may tip afterwards via Zelle or cash upon key return if you don’t want us to keep it on file.

Instructions / Rules of the House — We love details, the more the better! We love what we do, and we love keeping your pets on their regular routine. Please let us know if pets are not allowed in certain rooms or on furniture. We respect that! If you have pets that love to snuggle at night, we most certainly welcome them in bed with us!

Food and Kitchen – We have lots of pet parents that feed their pets raw diets and/or adds supplements to their raw food or kibble. We will keep them on their routine as we know how important it is for you. Clients that feed raw typically have containers preporportioned so that they are getting the exact amount. We know how expensive that stuff is! We strive to keep your house in the same condition or better than when we arrived! Mandi used to work in a high-end popular cook tools and home entertainment retailer. She is familiar with proper care of cutlery, and pots and pans. She makes sure that her staff know proper cleaning techniques as well.

Visitors, Services & Mail – Please let us know if housekeeping, lawn services will be coming while you are away. We make sure that all gates are closed before letting pets out. If someone shows up and we were not made aware, we will contact you before they have access. This is for our safety as well as your home security. We have turned away companies that have asked for access for inside the home because we weren’t made aware and the homeowner was out of the country. We take the security of your home, pets, and our safety very seriously. If family, friends, neighbors are also checking in on your home/mail/pets. We need to know so that we are not panicked and do not alert authorities. If trash and recycling falls during our stay, please let us know what day to place at curb. Packages and mail placed inside designated room of house.

House Plants – Watering of house plants (please give detailed instructions when possible).

Alarm Codes — Most people have ring and ask us to give them a code so we can alarm the house while we are away.

Home Emergencies – These seldom happen, but when they do, we will alert you promptly upon discovery with pictures if necessary. For example; We are very observant and have stopped a pool from overflowing due to the pool maintenance person not shutting off the water!

Walks & Potty Time – We are happy to walk dogs around the block as part of their care! Walking is available for those that have loose leash walking skills. We are an equal opportunity employer and do have staff that cannot be pulled. If your dog cannot be walked properly without pulling, alternative exercise in the backyard will be utilized. While walking your dogs, we do not allow them to interact with other people or dogs as it is a safety concern. Please provide a poo bag holder with bags on the leash. Potty time (we go outside with your dogs and actively watch to make sure they are doing their business and to monitor BMs. If you have an anxious dog or one with prone loose stool, please keep a few cans of pumpkin on hand so that we may administer to them).

Grooming – Want your pets to be snuggly fresh upon your arrival? Mandi can groom your pets while away so that they are fresh and clean to allow for maximum cuddleability upon your return. This is subject to availability and must be booked upon booking your sitting services so they can be scheduled. Nail clipping and teeth brushing are for the most part always available. Grooms will take place in your home. Please see grooming services and read policies and procedures.

Accidents / Anxious behavior — Any accidents are reported and pictures are taken for our record and to share with you. The accident will be cleaned to the best of our ability. Please let us know where cleaning supplies are and where your black trash can is for disposal outside.  While accidents do not typically happen under our care, we cannot guarantee that they won’t ever happen. If your pet has a history of having accidents or marking furniture, destructive behavior, we need to know this upon booking. Mandi’s Mutts will not be held liable for any staining or destruction to furniture, flooring or other items in your house hold. If your pet has a history of accidents or destruction while you are gone, it is recommended that they are kenneled while no one is at home to supervise them. It is also recommended that you have 3-4 check ins per day so that they may relieve themselves properly and have enough physical and mental stimulation and love so that they are not restless/anxious. We have a small array of dog puzzles, toys and flirt poles available to make sure your dog expends energy. WE will gladly play fetch or whatever makes them the happiest.
