Requirements prior to Ultra Sonic Service:
- Pictures of Your Dog’s Teeth
- Rabies Vaccination Records
- Enclosed, clean and quite area of your home. We usually use a bathroom for this service, but if you need us to use a different room please provide picture of the designated area so we can approve.
We require pictures of your dog’s teeth prior to booking, so we can evaluate if we can service your pet. In general, the more pictures the better and be sure they are clear and well lit. This will require you to gently lift your dog’s lips to properly show the gumline, as we need to be able to see if there is any periodontal disease. Take pictures of the front, left side, right side, INCLUDING molars. Send them to mandismuttshouston@gmail.com or text them to 832-506-0580.
Please note, if your pet has periodontal disease, we cannot service your pet as it will require veterinarian dental care. The only exception to this rule is if it is a senior or a brachycephalic breed and only after we have spoken with your veterinarian.
How many sessions do I need? That’s tough to say. There are many factors at play. It depends on how long the buildup has been on the teeth and how thick it is. It may take two to three sessions before there is a noticeable difference, especially for tough tarter on the back molars. The most that a dog has required so far has been 7 sessions. They were three years old, had quite a bit of buildup, and they weren’t fond of the process, so we took our time and I gave them breaks during our session. Toothpaste and additional toothbrushes may be purchased for an additional fee so you can continue your pet’s oral health at home. This will speed up the process of removal and help desensitize your pet to brushing.
Ultra-Sonic toothbrushing does NOT replace annual oral health checkups with their veterinarian. It helps you maintain their oral health by keeping plaque and tarter at bay. To be frank, there are some people that don’t brush their own teeth twice a day. Mandi is a groomer and as a groomer she knows that pets’ oral health is typically placed on the backburner until it gets out of hand. Mandi wants to help keep your beloved pet’s oral health stellar so they may live a long and happy life with all of their teeth!
Please note, We WILL NOT service any pet with a bite history or that is reactive. Our hands are in your pet’s mouth and one bite could possibly end our career.
